The Old Wordsworthians' Association
Our purpose is to provide opportunities for alumni to keep in touch and make contributions to the school and its students.
Donations policy
For many years, in response to requests, the OWA has made donations to the school worth around £3000 per annum. The donations have been largely used for
- Classroom furniture in particular for the Chapel, the VI form room, the learning support room;
- Support for students eg prefect prizes, travelling scholarships; pre-admission visits to university;
- Support for sport eg rugby goal posts, rugby shirts, physio therapy services;
- Support for teaching eg inkjet plotter rental, county library services rental
In the two years 2022-2024 the donations have been used for
- VI form pre-admission trip to Oxford £770
- Inkjet plotter rental £1100
- Prefect prizes 2x £150 £300
- Chapel chairs £600
- Hampshire County library rental service £540
- Music department including
- Digital audio workstations
- Sound mixer
- Microphones
- Ukuleles and guitar
£4000
Total £7320
The school has plans for a multi use games area. Subject to the school raising sufficient funds from other sources OWA has pledged £5000 towards the cost.
